Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson is an American actress born on October 3rd, 1983 at Los Angeles. Thompson is the daughter of the singer and songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson and the granddaughter of actor-musician Bobby Ramos. She was born in Los Angeles and raised there until moving to Brooklyn. Her mother has Mexican and British Isles origins, and her father is Afro-Panamanian. Thompson attended Santa Monica High School where she performed in numerous theater productions. Thompson enrolled at Santa Monica College after graduation and earned a cultural Anthropology degree. At Pasadena's Boston Court Theatre, she performed the role of Juliet in William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". That same year, her performance won an NAACP Theatre Nomination.
